A Storyboard of a Visual Metaphor

Posted by Bradley A on April 14, 2009

Camera fades in.

Children are seen running around the playground; camera retains its position.

Slowly, Children, one by one, are moved away from the playground. As this is going on, the screen begins to turn to black and white. As each child is removed, more black and white is applied.

Finally the Camera zooms in into a swing, that continues to rock back and forth. The camera will remain focus on the swing, and slowly fade out.

Camera fades out.

Wow! This visual metaphor sounds powerful. Do you know how to make that happen? I don’t :-) , but if you can do it, more power to you! Do you know a bunch of kids who will serve as actors? Remember that you are going to film this sequence, so it’s not just theoretical. Is there one that could be nearly as effective, but not so complicated to create?
